Hi, I am Karen Correia, and I am honored to be the principal of Carnesville Elementary School. I have spent my entire teaching career at CES. During my tenure, I taught 4th grade for 17 years, served as an academic coach, assistant principal, and am currently in my third year as principal. I have had numerous rewarding experiences during my career and enjoy building relationships with my students. I believe in all students’ abilities to learn and hold high expectations for them.
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in education from Emmanuel College, a Master’s Degree from Piedmont College, and a Specialists Degree in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.
On a personal note, I am the proud mother of two awesome sons, and the “Ma” of two precious grandchildren. We love spending time together. We play, we travel, we hang out, but most importantly, we make memories. In an effort to stay physically and mentally fit, I enjoy reading, walking for exercise, cooking, laughing, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
I am truly blessed to be in a profession that touches the lives of children and positively influences them to be the best person they can be, both academically and socially. I am more than proud to be a CES Eagle where we “Expect the Best”!
Together We SOAR!!
